How PetPuls uses data from Google
This page is the English version of section 5 of our privacy policy (in Polish). PetPuls is software for animal behaviourists and dog trainers: a practice panel for the specialist and a portal for pet owners. It is operated by Jakub Pawlak, ul. Mariana Zdziechowskiego 7/38, 02-659 Warszawa, contact: kontakt@petpuls.pl.
When PetPuls uses Google
Only when you turn a Google feature on yourself. A specialist connects a Google Account with a single “Connect with Google” button – one consent covers signing in with Google, Google Calendar (with Google Meet links) and the Google Drive files they pick themselves. A pet owner can sign in with Google and pick a recording from their own Drive. Without that, PetPuls does not request any access to your Google Account.
| Feature (Google scope) | What data and why | What we store |
|---|---|---|
Sign in with Google (openid, email, profile) |
your Google account ID, email address (and whether Google verified it), first and last name – to sign you in to the specialist panel or the pet owner portal, to create your account when you sign up and, if you ask for it, to fill in your details in the booking form. We do not fetch your Google profile photo. | the Google account ID and email address linked to your PetPuls account – you can unlink them in your account settings; Google tokens used for sign-in are not stored |
Google Calendar and Google Meet (calendar.readonly, calendar.events) |
the list of your calendars and the busy times of events in the calendars you choose – so that PetPuls does not offer pet owners times when you are busy; writing your consultations and classes to the calendar you choose (title: client name – unless you hide it in settings – and service, address, times, a link to the panel; no notes or clinical records) and creating a Google Meet room for online consultations | encrypted access and refresh tokens (AES-256-GCM); busy times as blocks labelled neutrally “Busy” – we do not store titles, descriptions or locations of your events; blocks older than 7 days are deleted; the Meet link on the consultation (the pet owner receives it in the confirmation) |
Google Drive (drive.file) |
only the files you pick yourself in the Google Picker and the PDF files PetPuls saves to your Drive at your request. We have no access to the rest of your Drive. A picked file is either (a) copied – for pet files, exercise and course files – or (b) left on your Drive – for video recordings. In case (b), so that the specialist and the pet owner (also without a Google Account) can watch the recording, PetPuls, at your instruction, gives the file the Google permission “anyone with the link can view” (not discoverable in Drive search) and the recording is played by Google’s player. We tell you about this when you pick the file. | (a) a copy of the file (content, name, type, size) – the same as a file uploaded from your device; (b) only the file’s Drive ID, name, type and size – the content stays with you. The Drive token lives only in your browser and for a single operation; it is never stored |
Limited Use
PetPuls’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing features described above.
- We do not sell it and do not use it for advertising, retargeting or credit assessment.
- We do not transfer it to third parties, except our hosting subprocessors listed in the privacy policy, when necessary for security or to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice to you.
- We do not use it to develop, improve or train generalised or non-personalised AI or machine learning models, and we do not send it to the provider of our AI assistant.
- Humans on the PetPuls team do not read it, unless you ask us for help and agree, it is necessary for security (for example investigating abuse) or required by law.
Revoking access and deleting data
- Google Account: disconnect it in “Your account” (“Disconnect Google account”). We revoke the grant at Google, delete the encrypted tokens and all busy blocks from Google and – if you keep that option on – the events we created in your calendar.
- Account or practice deletion removes the Google link and revokes the calendar grant at Google.
- You can also remove PetPuls’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Files copied from Drive stay in PetPuls like any uploaded file – you delete them where they were added. A recording left on Drive is removed from PetPuls in the same place; the file itself and its link sharing stay on your Drive – turn sharing off in Google Drive (“Share” → “General access” → “Restricted”), after which the recording no longer plays in PetPuls.
- To ask for deletion of any data, write to kontakt@petpuls.pl.
Security
Data is stored on servers in the European Union (Finland), transmitted only over HTTPS, and Google tokens are encrypted at rest. Access to production systems is limited to the operator; the administration panel requires two-factor authentication.
